An interesting take on the Lanterns mythos that builds a solid foundation for things to come. The performances by Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler were fantastic. Kyle in particular really was Hal Jordan, and easily one of the greatest portrayals of the character to date. Aaron's John Stewart was also fantastic. Both character portrayals were quite faithful to the comics, while the creative liberties taken with the mythos and the surrounding world... - Full Review

The Drama (2026) - Rated 17 Oct 2026

A great film that reminds us that perhaps we are not defined by our worst days, rather how we try to bring ourselves back from them. I loved the performances from Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. They carried the film and often nailed the dark and surprisingly funny moments throughout. This movie got some genuine laughs out of me, and it also made me uncomfortable in almost the same breath. Also, you may want to ask your significant other about the... - Full Review

V/H/S (2012) - Rated 17 Oct 2026

V/H/S is a couple of pretty awesome clips intermingled with tons of pretty forgettable ones, and even a couple downright poorly written ones. The backbone of the film, the single story thread that runs between all the clips, is also not very interesting. Overall, the couple really good shorts stop this from being a complete failure.

V/H/S/2 (2013) - Rated 17 Oct 2026

V/H/S/2 is much better than the first in the series. The clips are so fun and interesting, and feature few misses. The overarching story still is less interesting than the shorts, and acts as more of a mechanism to deliver them, then an actually interesting story. However, this is much improved from the first, and some great horror overall! Safe Haven is simply some of the best short horror I have come across, and its inclusion alone makes this worth a watch.

V/H/S: Viral (2014) - Rated 17 Oct 2026

And we are back to V/H/S being bad. When you combine wholly uninteresting shorts with a frustratingly nonsensical main backbone, you get a bad V/H/S movie, who would have thought. Many times in this thing, there are clips not being filmed by someone, making it not found footage, which does not really fit into the series. There was one sort of interesting short with like a parallel universe, but it was not super well done. And was certainly not... - Full Review

V/H/S/Halloween (2025) - Rated 17 Oct 2026

My entry into the series, V/H/S Halloween is a fun ride, and has some great shorts! To me, Coochie Cuchi Cu is a particularly fun short, and is super weird and off putting. Definitely a fun watch overall, I think there's a short here for every type of horror fan. Surely the series is always this fun!

The Watch (2012) - Rated 17 Oct 2026

A fun comedy, with a good cast and some surprisingly neat themes. While nothing really special, it's a fun time. It has some pitfalls, and not every joke lands, but overall it is a fun ride with a nice message about healthy male friendships. Plus, if you like other ben Stiller movies, this one will feel familiar and fun. The texture . . . the flavor, the color, the consistency . . . this is a movie that I like.
