Bio: I rate films by their category, If I rate a comedy 100 score it just means that I think its one of the best in that particular genre but it doesn't mean that I think is above others, like drama, historical, horror, etc.

Captain America: Civil War (2016) - Rated 28 Jun 2018

An amazing representation of clashing ideals. The film surprises you with several unexpected developments, and despite its huge cast, the film believes in leaving the main character progressing in his arc while also providing screen time for the counterparts to develop, no character was underused. All this coupled with the amazing use of CGI, excellent performance and fight choreography with the greylike plot-line, makes for an outstanding blockbuster.

Black Panther (2018) - Rated 28 Jun 2018

A heavy letter with a message that could change people's standing in certain topics and stands on its own. With an amazing design and colorful photography, excellent world building and immersive soundtrack, Black Panther is not afraid to embrace African culture to incorporate a foreign air to the film. Michael B. Jordan performance was a highlight and made you question yourself about the morals presented in the piece. While the action was lacking the attention to detail made for it.

Ant-Man (2015) - Rated 06 May 2018

The writing sets the tone for the whole movie from the very beginning, even though we are seeing this small superhero fighting to save the world, the funny, witty and corny lines makes the whole journey a fun experience that's supported by good characters but fells a little flat with a weak villain. The fight choreography is creatively done but with realistic approach and the editing in the film couldn't be more perfect. If you want comedy from the Marvel universe, this is the film for you.

The Truman Show (1998) - Rated 06 May 2018

A classic of criticism towards the media and society as we accept it. The films shows us an amazing use cinematography to tell the story. The ambient of the show is always set up in a way to fit with the thematic of personal privacy. While Carrey deserves praise for his performance, is the supporting cast that amplifies this uncanny valley effect from the fake behavior we are so used to in our real media, making you feel uncomfortable while watching it from a 3rd person perspective.

Luke Cage (2016) - Rated 06 May 2018

A mesh of magnificence and mediocrity. With an outstanding soundtrack but terrible fight choreography. Fitting casting with some strong characters scrambled with cartoonish cutouts of black people. Interesting story-line cut short by some mediocre acting and writing. Good representation of real issues but diminished by shoehorned references and dropped names of famous black people for the sake of it. Nevertheless a good try in the good direction on how black people should be represented in tv.

Daredevil (2015) - Rated 06 May 2018

Slows builds up into a gritty, strong and intense story, with worthy counterparts for our hero. The fights are extremely visceral and well executed, showing brutality at its finest. All the characters do their part in the plot and while the series does an amazing job at making an homage to the cartoons characters, it also doesn't get diminished by it, allowing the writers to show how this superhero came to be. This is truly the best that Netflix has to offer from the marvel franchise.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014) - Rated 15 Apr 2018

A film that will surprise you. Really shines by the craftsmanship that went into the script and the amazing editing it received. While the Sci-Fi elements are not striking, the movie is gifted by an amazing storyline with great character development that allows Cruise to show his talent. The minor supporting characters are not great but the story doesn't really need them, it just keeps going from a cliche blockbuster into an intense and action packed situation where madness is the only solution.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) - Rated 15 Apr 2018

While the action was sometimes spectacular in a theatrical way, you'd often find yourself overwhelmed by blurs in the screen during several fight scenes. The characters turned into this homogeneous mass of quip and sarcasm, leaving behind any real identity from past films. The direction seems fine but its clearly cut short by disagreements behind the scenes. Instead of a film you'll get a preview of what future movies will bring with a bastardization of what could have being an amazing villain.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) - Rated 15 Apr 2018

GotG comes back with better and enhanced special effects but with an script that's more of a tie into the MCU piece than a standalone movie. While in a way it replicates the same formula from Vol. 1, it also executes it extremely well. The music again is one of the highlights in the movie right next to Pratt performance, but the rest of the cast feel way more comfortable with their roles. This is the kind of film where you can shutdown your brain, relax and enjoy a colorful experience.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) - Rated 15 Apr 2018

Spectacular space opera with a full-throttle humor. Pratt performance was surprisingly above what was expected and it became the highlight of the experience, nevertheless all the characters are likable in one way or another and really well developed. The humor was well placed and extremely on point, delivered by talented actors and enhanced by the quality of the script. The special effects were out of this world and well complemented by an amazing and fitting soundtrack.
