Good god, I wanted to love this film! The concept is so cool but it just falls flat if you even think about it for a second. How could a person living in a one room apartment come up with a heist with a sex robot that he had to pay enough to rent for, let's just say a week, and he didn't think about making her make money in a smarter way... Let's also discount the fact that the technology of the sex bot would be so insane, that the company would not just send two techs to collect it, especially if they would think she would have been modded... Gunshot wound right to her temple and it committed suicide and this info was only given in person? Yeah, I don't buy it, the company would be smarter and send security... Okay, so look, I really love this film, but the more I think about it, the less makes sense and it's just not healthy for me anymore... I actually really enjoyed a lot of this. Sophie Thatcher is amazing in this and the special effects are really well done. The ending and the brutal kills are also really fun. Okay, that's enough about the positives. What the hell is up with the flimsy rules of what makes a robot modded and how come was a gunshot wound to the temple not on her in the end? Why did the cop not care to look behind him when looking at a panicking girl covered in blood running away from a rich person? What the fuck happened to Teddy? Because the film told me so, I guess... Sigh...
Mini Review: This movie had such a cool concept, and I wanted to love it, but it falls apart if you think about it. A guy in a one-room apartment rents a sex robot for a week for a heist but never uses her smarter, and the company wouldn’t just send two techs to retrieve such advanced tech, even after a gunshot “suicide.” I enjoyed Sophie Thatcher, the effects, and the brutal ending, but the rules for modding, plot holes, and unanswered questions like Teddy’s fate make it frustrating.
