for all intents and purposes, cure is a perfect film, i can't spot or name a single flaw. but it just doesn't scare me - at least when compared to the only other work of director kiyoshi kurosawa i've seen, pulse, (2001), which i hold in high regard as the single scariest film i've ever seen. so, seeing as this as just as creepy and uncanny as the original, and comes from the same mind as the only film to ever truly terrify me, i thought i'd give it another go and throw out any opinions i had about the film. given as this is a rewatch, i relatively knew what to expect, but i tried to ignore my preconceived notions and go in as blind as possible. and i'm happy to say that cure certainly did its job! it creeped me out (not to the same extent as pulse, but i don't think any movie will ever creep me out more than that), and like i said before it's extremely hard to find anything wrong with this movie.
