Excellent comfort food series. The tropes are familiar but elevated by the great writing, acting, and countryside vistas.

I can't believe this is the second adaptation. I will admit, this is not exactly my cup of tea, but nevertheless, I found it dreadful with especially obnoxious characters. The actor portraying the main character lacks, well, everything. Finishing the first episode was a battle.

Solid little show.

Although it's family-friendly (which will turn off some folks) the characters are all likable thanks to a good cast. It can feel a little familiar with the small-town eccentrics routinely flustering the fish out of water new doctor but it's all so well done that it didn't hang me up. Well worthwhile if you enjoy the period, animals, or ambience heavy shows.
