And Just Like That...

Sometimes dead is better.

Fans will be glad that the show doesn't switch ALL of its focus onto a Woke quota of new minorities you're not here for but this is also a nightmare of Wokeness. So, there are new directions for the characters (esp Carrie) but Woke opinions are treated as fact. So, a friend shouldn't judge you for having an affair, but a minority can judge you for wearing a sari & 1 must monitor "white privilege" but the wealthy trio can decree "You HAVE to love where you live" and no one notices real privilege

Fucking bizarre AWFL (Affluent White Female Liberal) humiliation ritual of a show; feels uncomfortably like watching someone’s kink for being scolded for being insufficiently woke play out in grotesque real time. Even my wife, who is one of those chicks who’s seen every episode of Sex and the City fifty times, hates it, thus her insisting I watch this episode just to see that it really was as bad as she claimed. It was.

On a recent trans-atlantic flight, this was offered as part of the entertainment. I knew it would be terrible, but as someone who found most of SATC enjoyable, curiosity got the better of me... It was like the proverbial car wreck--I SO wanted to turn to something else, but its hideous awfulness somehow prevented me. Just. Don't.

I guess it gets some credit for trying to do something new and not just trying to make the same show again. But most of what is new is not entertaining, and nobody will be surprised that all of its wokeness feels cheap and unearned.

I watched 2 episodes, and then I just had to stop. As a fan of Sex and the City, I was disappointed that all the wit had been wiped out (and many of the important characters, too). We were left with three want-to-be-woke, squealing bimbos. In the Friends reunion, the cast said they didn't want to make more episodes, because they wanted to imagine the characters going on with their lives. I wish Sex and the City had done the same. I don't know what was more botched: this show or Charlotte's face.
