Pretentious crap. It tries to paint itself as some deep, subtle commentary about the human psyche and libido (or something) but that doesn't disguise the shows obnoxious anime stereotypes and dull, convoluted dialog. A lot of dialog is just WORDS with little meaning and the overall message of the whole thing doesn't convey anything particularly meaningful or interesting. This was a very spastic and mostly entertaining show that had the aesthetics of Utena, which I liked, and the in-your-face dumb shit of Kill La Kill & FLCL, which I didn't like. I don't really get all the love and hype this gets but it gets a solid 65 points from me.

Seems style is the draw here, since while the characters are interesting, they're completed drowned by the constant in-your-face style, even when simply talking. And boy do they talk a lot - the one time an actual action scene came on I practically cheered, because finally something was happening! It's all very tiring, and the episodes about the "snail" girl are some seriously cringey shit. Typical overpraised otaku-bait.
