Netflix said this had boobs and nudity in it. I fast-forwarded through the better part of the first season and saw nothing of the sort.

This was established to be alt universe, so I'm completely fine with the casting choices. Page's sex face acting was probably the best I've ever seen by a male actor. I hope that series 2 will follow even though the first season was pretty self-contained. Pen was my favorite character and was served short by this season. I really want to know where her story progresses since I was most invested in her story.

The acting is so bad and the chemistry between the main characters so non-existent that the show has to keep forcing them together to the point where it becomes ridiculous. They constantly run into each other in libraries at midnight, in meadows at dawn, in parks and in gardens, and the other characters also keep pushing them together ("Kate, you have to go hunt with Anthony! Women do not traditionally hunt, but we have to make the audience believe that you are in love!"). Rubbish!

Season 1: 75, Season 2: 70

This is truer to its source material -- a series of modern regency romance novels -- than it is to history. If you can accept that, than you are in for a thrill ride. The bright colors (the title card alone), the costumes, the sex, the dialogue, the pacing (e.g., the breakneck resolution of conflict in the final episode), and tension are all right of a romance novel -- something that rarely gets this budgetary treatment on film. And it is all a glorious respite from current gloom and doom.

Absurd that people would actually be annoyed by black actors being cast in this. The show features cello covers of Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande songs for its ball dancing music, it's obviously not intended to be historically accurate. It's a fictional tv show not a documentary, so that particlar criticism is just racist BS. Anyway, I thought it was an entertaining, easy, fun watch but nothing extraordinary.

Phoebe Dynevor was adorable in this. Queen Charlotte may have been black, but the other high society black characters ruin its credibility. I enjoyed the pageantry and sets. Some of the costumes were spectacular. The societal norms and rigid rules of conduct were oppressive and cruel. Some nice drama, but a few of the storylines were quite wobbly. A period piece with modern music. It was interesting and entertaining so worthwhile despite its shortcomings and revisionist racial history.

Not so believable characters. Also the story doesn’t go anywhere. It’s just bunch of characters being nasty with each other and royal life issues in a boring fantasy.

I generally like Bridgerton but I feel like this last season didn’t hit you in the feels the same way.

Season 1 and 2 were great, 3 significantly brought down the rating, if I even watch season 4 it most likely will too

This show includes mystery, steamy scenes, feminism, and lots of spectacular visuals. Very good show.

On the surface, this is gossip girl with period frocks and bonnets...dig a little deeper, and its still gossip girl with period frocks and bonnets (plus mildly provocative casting to keep 'the gammons' blood pressure high enough so they have the energy to complain to the Daily Mail) Great stuff!

As a lover of contemporary romance and a period piece, Bridgerton hits exactly what I need.

I found the 2 main characters too pretty, modern and without real character depth to be at all believable. Very lacking in nuance, like a bad YA novel.
