Apparently, Johnny Cash was a better actor than he was a singer.

Relied on a couple too many Sherlock style minutia-catching moments but Cash was a surprisingly good baddie.

Did Johnny Cash himself write the episode? It's almost a fabulous Eminem style murder fantasy.

Johnny Cash is indeed good, playing extremely against type as a philandering pill-popping country singer. Ha. Except June was an angel, sent by the lord on high, and his wife here is a ball-buster, who Johnny kills in the sky. Ha.

The start is solid, giving both motive and an interesting setup. I enjoyed the interactions with Mr. Pengborn and others. The entire investigation was top notch Columbo with no asspulls. And the killer was refreshingly not as arrogant as most Columbo's cases. One thing I disliked was the last line claiming the killer couldn't be all bad because of his beautiful voice. They were not just a killer, they were a rapist pedophile that killed their own victim to cover it up! Uniquely deplorable.
