Has some good bits. Maybe I would have liked it more if I had watched it right as it came out. Currently I don't feel like watching yet another show about struggling comedians.

I stumbled across this having skipped it when it initially came out and was pleasantly surprised. Holmes is a likable dope in the worst of situations and his perpetual awkwardness and do-goodery is a constant source of cringey laughs. The guest comics steal the show, as they are meant to. I am not an Artie Lange fan but he serves well here as does Basil.

Pete is a great protagonist to follow and the revolving supporting cast keeps things fresh and and often incredibly funny. There are some effective dramatic moments along the way as well further affirming my belief that stand up comics typically make great dramatic actors

In a dystopian future when all other comedians have been "cancelled" due to being "problematic" or because they were accused of sexual harassment, one still stands (up): the irrepressibly schlubby and mediocre Pete Holmes.

Pretty great struggling comedian series. The best was the episode where they spent the whole time "busking" (that's handing out fliers for comedy shows in NYC). There is some real honest dialogue, like when a group of comedians all stand around on the street, eating, all the while mocking the "stupid tourists" that get conned into attending their comedy practice. They're cursing the same people that they practically beg for hours to come hear them perform. Insightful.
