Curse of the Blair Witch

This mockumentary convinced my younger brother that the whole thing was real. Yeah. My younger brother. Yep.

As a mockumentary, it's a bit weak, but as a piece of marketing, it is stone-cold genius. Half the power of the film came from this appendix.

All in all, this is quite delightful.

While the actual film drew mixed, often heated reactions from genre fans, few deny the entertainment value of this, Myrick and Sanchez's ingenious chronicle of the "legendary" Blair Witch's back story. The "documentary" interweaves interviews with law-enforcement officials, private investigators, local citizens, and friends and neighbors of the three young filmmakers who disappeared in _The Blair Witch Project_ with historical accounts of the witch's wicked alleged exploits

The only good Blair Witch movie.

A "documentary" about The Blair Witch which adds much needed lore and backstory to the original The Blair Witch Project. I totally bought into it as a kid. I still love it now.

In some ways, this is actually better than the film it was made to accompany. It has some better acting and adds a lot of context the film does not. Don't misunderstand me, Project is much better overall. Curse never reaches above slightly creepy but it did retain my interest the entire time.
