A big step down from the first Digimon series. By letting the characters hop from the digital world to the real world at will, pretty much all the tension and stakes are cut back by 90%. The human heroes, their Digimon and the villains are all less memorable. Also much more formulaic from episode to episode. I rank it as high as I do because I still like the Digimon world and the original characters when they play a role, but it's a clear step back.

it also gets much better when the shit is in the real world. but this got way more corny and childish. cool ideas though like the digimon emperor, needing to be better friends and understand each other to fuse, shoehorning cody's dad into the villain's arc but that villain was cool and his sacrifice to repair the world, the end when they're adults with kids going to digiworld. i didn't like the romantic confusion with tai sora and matt. and they shoulda done that with tk kari and davis :P

pretty bad; not confident enough in the new characters and the old ones still kind of sucked. the ending was so terrible it made my friends not stick around for Tamers, which was everything good about Digimon
