The very good performances and incredible cinematography are all but wasted on an inferior script.

Should have been only 4 episodes or maybe just made into a movie. The pacing was practically glacial with way too much filler. The narration really brought this down.

Dropped it after the third episode, was waiting for something to get going but it's so incredible how it insists upon itself.

Hated the ending! Else would have given a couple of points more.

This show is absolutely wild in how unbelievable it all is, how mannered and geriatric, the dialog being often completely alien as if no human was involved in writing it. Kevin Kline acts like he's in a comedy (literally rubbing his hands together after doing something evil), but the rest aren't on the same page at all. This makes for fantastic so-bad-its-good-watching and i struggle to rate it for that reason. I thoroughly enjoyed it but it's a farce through and through

Alfonso Cuarón and an excellent cast are already reason enough to check it out. I’ve always liked stories like these, and while the motivations of Kline’s character get pretty suspect towards the end, I still found it incredibly engaging. My main criticisms would be how much time is spent it spent in the past (specifically the sex scenes, which drag), and how contrived the accident is. The “you’re cancelled” scene is also pretty cartoonish. Still, I really enjoyed most of it.
