I struggled to care about any of the characters other than Elliot. The action sequences are excellent when they pop up, but it felt like a slog to get through the story between them a lot of the time.

look, i'm a sucker for proper fight choreography, especially when applied to actual characters instead of a buncha putties (see: THE RAID), and while it's gratuitous, edgy, pretentious trash it's also brainier and ballsier than shows like this really need to be, with an admirable lack of a safety net. the siege episode is particularly great, compelling from the outset without utilising a single main character. diminishing returns in s2 though, not sure i'll continue any further.

Do not watch this to get complete satisfaction from screenwriting, acting and others. Watch it for the exquisite choreography of the action sequences. You won't be disappointed.

Gareth Evans GoT-ifying his "The Raid" franchise (even has two GoT actors) for a lavishly produced ultra-violent opera about families, loyalty and betrayal. The first season is a guilty pleasure, with horror directors helming some episodes, action choreography and gore that are hardcore tense and fun - but even then it's schlock. In season 2 the writing goes to hell in a handbasket, and season 3 is pure soap and seems like it was penned by a child.

Abandoned after two episodes. Too much rudimentary acting and tiresome dialogue. Score reflects benefit of the doubt.
