Only rated so high because I reaaally liked season 2 with its 'weird cult on a small island plus zombie virus' premise. Though there were definitely some issues with annoying characters with even more annoying plotlines (yes I'm looking at you 'hot zone') I quite enjoyed this series and find it too bad that there isn't going to be a third season to bring a good, clear ending to the story.

2 episodes watched so far. I'm liking this! I tend to like infection and zombie stories. The occasional silliness hasn't stopped me getting into it.

In each of its two season run, Helix introduced cool mysterious premises, and subsequently dragged them out a little bit too long with mediocre character drama. When it has momentum, its a good show, but the show always felt a little contrived. The cast is good for the most part, but I often found Zagorsky a bit off-putting.

Honestly, I don't think it should've been green lighted past the pilot episode. The general synopsis of season 1, rogue disease mutating genes and what not, I could get behind but the execution was god awful. Season 2 was one big non sequitor mess.

Season #1 was a good Outbreak type of story! Season #2 was awful! It became a soap-opera! The surprise son, the surprise daughter, surprise mother, surprise father... The only thing it was lacking was a twin!

First season is really good. Second season not so much.

"The Thing" with a "Lost"-flavored coat of paint on it. Or is it the other way around?
