The first couple of episodes were pretty badass with those monsters totally demolishing their victims. After that it got increasingly uninteresting. I'm not saying it was all bad. But you go in expecting one thing and they deliver that for a little bit, and they they change things up completely, and you feel they tricked you.

A good allegory on how people abuse religions. It is an interesting concept, not amazingly executed but enjoyable. Makes you wonder what will happen in season 2

The first season is a couple of different narratives which gives it some charm. Monsters are generic and not that scary, and their abilities are somewhat campy. The premise is great and it's a shame it didn't end up in more capable hands as there is a lot to explore in the world they're trying to paint here. Not sure why but I did find the show engaging, hence the fairly high rating. We'll se whether season 2 will redeem or tank it.

While the show redeems itself in the last couple of episodes with more excitement, the earlier episodes hover around decent. The "hell" universe is not particular appetizing either with many holes. Might give another season a shot, but until then---pass grade only.

Another Korean Netflix series and another fucked up concept. Unusually episodes 1-3 and 4-6 are effectively split two separate narratives each with different main protagonists and antagonists. The first half is a sort of detective mystery with extremely graphic horror elements. The second then turns into Children of Men ... with extremely graphic horror elements. This is dark stuff for sure. Anyone titilated by Squid Game but thought that was graphic will be in for a shock here.

Hellbound is frustratingly shallow and oft aimless in its approach to a story that had potential to be as deep, dark and layered.

In a world where scientists or the military are not interested in mysterious creatures, mediocre people and psychopaths are occupied with secondary social issues. Good premise, bad script, mediocre execution.
