House of David is a solid show that encapsulates the life of David from the Holy Bible. And while I do give this show credit for being an overall well-done adaptation of the story, I couldn't force myself to finish it after halfway through season two. Exceptional acting and directorship that carries the heart and essence of the scriptures, ethos and pathos... There is a lot filler drama that some might find unnecessary but centre remains the centre and everything is seamless. David's relationship with Michal was brought earlier in chronology than is biblically accurate, soft Hollywood-style leather was also often used where in reality they would have rather used metallic scale armor. Otherwise embellishments but no significant divergence.

I'm quite impressed by this. I especially like that they are actually using middle eastern actors for a lot of these roles, as that's something you don't often see in these stories. I think the actors do a great job, and the production looks great from a visual standpoint as well. It does look like they're stretching the show out longer than I would have expected, and I'm not a fan of the extra charge for season 2, but I'm enjoying it regardless.
