Oh we're rating these separately now? Well Stardust Crusaders is one of the weaker arcs, partially because Araki was still coming up with what Stands could do, partially because of wonky pacing, and partially because Parts 2 and 4 are so great. But there's still some classic fights in here, especially the Darby fights and the finale. And my god, the Engrish in this is best ever.

Stardust Crusaders as a whole is a good microcosm for JJBA itself: a sloppy, messy collection of curiosities that begin to form a more disciplined and brilliant story over time. again, David Production crushes it, using superb art direction and production techniques to tighten the early parts of the story into something more bearable, and giving the far superior second half the reverent treatment it deserves.

While its episodic nature can be frustrating coming on the heels of part 1 and 2's tight narratives, part 3 introduces some of the series' most iconic and memorable characters (I adored the crusaders by the end) and around mid-s02 begins a barrage of fantastic stand battles leading up to an absolutely stupendous final fight.

A nice end to a trilogy of JoJo v Dio. You have a great villain with tons of henchmen Vs 4 buff guys who will have to adapt on the fly if they're to achieve their goal. It's limited by every fight being either 1 or 2 eps (with exception of the final fight) and the show really preferring some characters over others but the show has a way with making every fight seem terrifying and tough.. Add in great action, English and a great soundtrack, this is a nice way to cap off the Dio trilogy.

Overlong, silly and sometimes tedious. Gets really good in the last eight episodes. -- Honestly, why not cut it down from 48 to 36 episodes (or less)?

Stardust Crusaders is one of my least-favorite parts of the manga, but because they condensed fights into just a couple episodes, the anime ends up being just as good as the adaptation of the first two parts.

Compared to part 2 SD is far more outlandish with its powers and scenarios. Yet at no point is the series ever boring as the scenarios are constantly varied and each of the main cast gets a fight where they individually shine in. Sometimes I feel the solutions can be overly one-note such as how Kakyoin or Jotaro tend to have almost the same solution every fight, but even in those cases the fights are varied enough that it isn't hampered by that and the iconic climatic Dio fight was phenomenal.
