The wild stylization and fourth-wall-breaking are interesting but mostly feel like overcompensation to make up for what is just not a very interesting true-crime story. The performances and production design are through the roof, but there's such a huge discrepancy between those elements and the rather straightforward and somewhat dull plot. The police and lawyer characters are also far too shallow for how much time they take up. No reason this story needed to be a mini-series instead of a film

This should have been a movie. Not much story to tell.

I love both actors and it was entertaining enough, but overall felt dragged and a bit pointless.

The facilitation of various theatrical scenographic tactics and brilliant acting almost entirely renders the story redundant. this doesn't even bother you a bit.

Plenty of fourth wall tricks ramping up the metaphor of dissociation. The storytelling is overly labored, and yet, Olivia Colman lights up the room in every scene.

It's a simple and uninteresting true crime story ruined completely by endless surreal dream sequences and meta shit like stopping a scene to show the cameras and behind sets and shit. The final episode goes from the courtroom to a Wild West shootout, next thing you know the defendant is shooting the judge through the heart with an imaginary gun with his fingers. CRAP CRAP CRAP! A complete waste of FOUR HOURS!!!
