The first two seasons are good. Standard in many ways, but enlightened by Tim Roth and his team.

This shouldn't be as good as it is, but Roth powers this thing forward and the rest of the cast is interesting enough. I could have done without the forced daughter drama.

Prima stagione molto bella e originale, poi un netto calo con banalizzazione delle storie e dei personaggi a partire dal protagonista, diventato una caricatura di se stesso. La cancellazione a metà della terza non mi ha suscitato rimpianti.

Fun--good for a light binge. Writing good enough to keep your interest, and some good, quirky characters. At least for the first season...as so often happens, it goes downhill as it goes on. Did they doubt their interesting premise? Who thought it needed to be more melodramatic and less process-oriented? Roth's "acting" quirks--like his character--get more annoying as the series progresses. I [heart] Brendan Hines's character. It's not amazing, but I don't hate myself for watching it, at least.

There was lots to like about this, but ultimately the characters went undeveloped and it became a little too repetitive. Still worth hunting out.

Too bad it didn't get a good closing season... just feels so unfinished now.

Tim Roth portrays Paul Ekman in a very fantastical way. But the fact that this is based on a real person and Dr. Ekman's books are so interesting and the basis for his FBI training courses is quite intriguing and really engages me while watching this.
