Ramsey is less of an ass and more of a mentor here than in his other shows but he still ends up being more interesting than the other judges. Even without yelling, Joe somehow manages to be more of a psycho that Ramsey at his most shouty which is both hilarious and detestable in equal measure. Generic, formulaic, but fine. I like cooking shows.

So much less interesting than the Australian version.

I think I'd rate this even higher if I didn't feel like they were meddling with their competitions and challenges to goose ratings all the time. I can honestly say I've learned a few things about cooking from this show, and that adds some merit to me.

Formulaic as hell and the loss of Joe in the newest season was a huge blow but damn if it isn't entertaining and fun to watch. I have a soft spot for cooking shows as I consider myself a decent cook but these types of shows bring me back down to reality to show how technical and interesting food can be. Gordon Ramsay is more restrained here then he is on other shows and it's interesting to see him take on more of a mentor role
