The other BL work (besides Ai no kusabi) with existential depth and strength in my opinion, about what life and death means in the dark depth of (sexual) desire, individual and collective history, guilt and quasi-causality, and about pursuing a cosmic answer down to the bottom and up towards the infinite. Unfortunately this can hardly be conveyed by the unfinished adaptation that only covers the first ten volumes of the novel. Extra points for the ensouling performance by Mr Hayami and Mr Seki.
