Soderbergh is riffing on TWIN PEAKS here with fair to middling results; ultimately the oddly paced and at times muddled narrative becomes frustrating, especially in the first half - once the tale shifts to the aftermath of Lake's murder, it does pick up considerably, largely due to Hedlund and a superb Ratray's duelling broken and despairing spirits. Having not watched via the app, it's possible that the clanging and stultifying exposition drops may be a concession to the interactive element.

One episode and done for me. Celebrity children's author Sharon Stone chats up a young bartender/artist. Next scene, she has drinks with someone. They discuss...something? Who is he? I don't know. Next scene, a couple of guys talking about...business? Or something? Next scene, Sharon Stone walking around talking with some other man. Who is he? I don't know. What are they talking about? I don't know. My mind wandered for an hour. It's apparently also a choose-your-own-adventure app.

Maybe i’m getting old and therefore become more and more attracted to whodunnits, but Mosaic is a real hoot. It’s an ingenious puzzle where every one of the 6 characters is the main character of their own perspective and this makes not only for a pleasantly twisty plot but also many different examples of how perspective changes the perception of character and motive. Every actor was great but especially Ratray who’s such a natural and interesting character that i wish he’d play this cop again

Intriguing, bold mystery series. It all comes together for the spectacular last episode.

Well, I like it. Give it a go if you like Soderbergh.
