Night on Earth

The technical achievement is remarkable and really provides some amazing footage. The documentary fails to fully capitalize on the footage, however, by putting this together in a way that doesn't stand up to the (insanely high) standards that were set by Planet Earth.

Killing & eating: the anthem of the earth.

There are some cool shots and sequences. But as a cohesive whole, this is a mess. The structure and editing are just all over the place, with random cuts to other scenes seemingly to avoid showing death. The narration/writing is abysmal, vapid and full of faux-drama. The night gimmick seems kinda forced, as there are just as many weak sequences as interesting ones.

Its refreshing and the techniques they composed into is look amazing too.
