I'm a sucker for the roaring twenties so there was no way this could disappoint. Fans of Boardwalk Empire who are not afraid of historical spoilers are going to get a kick out of the third part. Also, it's time for a drink. I've been sober for more than 24 hours, screw that.

It's simply amazing we didn't drink ourselves to death since the dawn of civilization. Burns delivers an extremely dense and tight doc as usual so it's up to you to just enjoy the ride even though it might seem too long.

Burns is good at laying the facts out straight but he also doesn't bother warming them up for you. In a way I respect this neutral approach but I prefer a well constructed story over - this happened and then this happened etc.

It feels like the Ken Burns style was created specifically for a prohibition doc, so this just hits the mark. It is sensational without ever sensationalizing, just what it needed to be.

Ken Burns makes excellent historical documentaries. They are always a little dry and incredibly long, but you will always learn something interesting. I was very happy with this one in particular because unlike 'Jazz' and 'Baseball', the subject matter was much more interesting to me, personally.
