Samurai Jack meets Star Wars. Much more enjoyable than the prequel movies.

Tartakovsky doing what he does best: long, complex, gorgeously-animated fight scenes, with everything conveyed using minimal dialogue. Add to that the fruitful collection of characters and locations from the Star Wars universe, and you've got a pretty good show!

Tartakovsky destroys all pre-conceived notions of the prequels in his Clone Wars. And thankfully so. All the good story-telling of old Star Wars mixed in with the spectacle of the prequels and the tonal wonder and great animation of classics like Samurai Jack. Easy recommendation, here.

I fondly recall watching these 5 minute shorts once a week. It's well animated and has more style than either of it's live-action counterparts. Gendry Tartakovsky really knows what he is doing.

Really fun series of short cartoons (the whole series is about the length of a normal SW movie). Laid a lot of groundwork for the more in-depth series that would start in 2008.

The original Clone Wars; an hour of 3 minute episodes followed by an hour of 10 minute ones that deliver a mixed bag of weird monsters, excessive battle scenes, bad dialogue ("I am Sith") and some pretty iconic moments (Anakin vs Ventress; the outro into Ep. 3). I'm not a great fan of Tartakovsky, but the blend of his style and STAR WARS works for the most part.

This is a really cool series and I think it is best to watch it all in one sitting. With animation there is a lot of stuff that you can't do with real actors and in this series you can see a lot more spectacle. We also get introduced to Asajj Ventress and General Grievous in this series.

Could be it worked in a weekly 5 minutes per episode format, but it certainly doesn't works as a movie. Not unless you're a 12 years old boy. I somehow managed to stare blankly through the first 33 minutes of this constant laser-laser-lightsaber-lightasber nonsense before I gave up. Nothing of importance happens, no characters you can relate to, just an endless stream of heavily stylized copy-pasted sprites moving across the screen. Pointless.
