somewhat like red letter media, i got to know "the drinker" via his star wars rants. where stoklasa and co. used the attention to elaborate and show what else they've got, will jordan's still stuck between shilling his second rate clancy copies ("ryan drake"? seriously??) and the "everything is lame because it's woke now"-routine. which isn't to say there's no truth to that. it's just not helping anything and it'll get old for more and more people. evolve, reinvent, dude! i know you're on here.

I vaguely remember his Game of Thrones commentary videos being decent when someone shared them with me, then forgot about him for years. Then in 2019/2020 the youtube algorithm decided to bombard me with recommendations of TCD, and wow he's become a one trick pony - rant about wokeness and forced diversity in Disney/Marvel/etc. blockbusters that are shitty anyway because of billion dollar corporate design by committee creative choices. Also drinking as a personality, what are you fifteen?

Kind of amusing but also a little knee-jerk with the anti-wokeness and with an almost excessively minimalist editing style (clips rarely matched up to what he’s talking about, no music/sound at all behind the dry recording of his own voice in the mic). Funnily I actually like him more in his occasional long form podcasts than in his shorter videos. I listened to his entire like 4 hour or whatever Cobra Kai podcast, but sometimes click off a video of his after 30 seconds - weird!

I find him neither insightful nor funny. His reviews are extremely surface level; the most he has to say about a film is pointing out plot holes or complaining about "lack of logic" while occasionally mocking wokeness. He'll also make attempts at video essays, such as his "why we need heroes" videos, which shows that his attitude and understanding of storytelling is laughably moronic. Most I'll give him is he won't kneejerk hate anything for being "woke" but his standard of that is still stupid.
