The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell

Very, very odd. Half straightforward baking show, half horror-themed sitcom with puppets... so points for creativity, I guess. It kept my attention for a few episodes due to the weirdness on display, but it wears thin quickly.

I've got no idea who this series is aimed at. The craft aspect of the show is similar to Art Attack, with the "walkthroughs" glossing over several steps. McConnell herself is reminiscent of Nigella Lawson, with her sultry voice and movements. The sitcom aspect is filled with plenty of sexual innuendo and murder jokes mixed in with childish set-ups and dialogue. The guides aren't really feasible nor is the show that entertaining.

I have no idea who the target audience is for this. The Henson Company puppets and comedy style would make you think it's for children, but all of the crafts and recipes are WAY too complicated for any child to attempt, let only 95% of adults. It's a weird, quirky mish-mash of different ideas, and while I'm not sure if it all works together, it does it make it far more interesting than the large majority of other cooking/baking/craft/home-decor shows out there.
