The Dana Carvey Show

best is it's basically discovering+gifting us carell, to a lesser extent colbert, and to a more appreciated extent heather morgan, other great cast members. dana often wasn't funny, even eye-roll or a bit cringe, and not suitable as the host. yet he was often pretty good to great, the skits were similarly ranged. first lady dogs, nauseated waiters, buy ditch pranks, grandma the clown, nice germans, under 5 comedians, grodin, ambiguously gay duo, casem, after darks etc, disguised witness voices

Hilarious at best, shrill and terrible at worst. Carvey does some of the best impressions in the business, Regis being a particular stand-out, and some sketches are insanely good, Bob Dole trying to undermine Clinton's chances for re-election, Brokaw reporting Gerald Ford's increasingly unlikely deaths, and the old lady clown with the pie going slowly into the face, but I really could have done without the president lactating, the "no ass" Wizard of Oz thing, the pranksters, etc.
