You will feel every emotion at some point in this series. This is the kind of series you watch when you want to rethink your life, learn from past mistakes and see how bad things can get when you are stuck in the past. TRIGGER WARNING for sure though so make sure you can handle that.

The combination of twee quirk and affected morbidness is initially grating, although it does get (slightly) more palatable as it goes along. The girl is quite good, the dweeb from Black Mirror not so much. A cameo from Super Hans is always welcome. Too much sensitive acoustic indie crap on the soundtrack. I see the appeal, but seriously people just go watch Trust, or, you know, Badlands...

Everyone keeps bragging about the chemistry between the two leads and these characters and their situations are so hilarious. I found them moody, prententious and horribly bland from a comedic standpoint. The only thing that kept it sort of fun was the unpredictability of what the characters may attempt to do next. Other than that I did not find the characters as engaging as everyone claims them to be. I was let down by the series after hearing nothing but high praise.

Occasionally wallows in its anti-coolness but it's heartfelt and often succeeds in capturing and sharing the wide spectrum of emotions it plays with. Both leads are very good.

An honest and messy story that involves two teenagers also honest and messy with all the questions that appear in early youth. It is about passage of time, maturity, future desires and what comes with all of it that now you need to act responsibly. Very reflective, I recommend.

Horrible, almost stopped before the first 18m. Feels like reading a synopsis of a notebook with each page from a different book. Caricature characters, shallow plot, no background whatsoever for any dramatic act and it's all coated with stupid not funny flashes and cuts that makes you roll your eyes every time.

bir şey anlatmak için değil bir şey izlensin diye yapılmış resmen. müzik kullanımı övülüyor ama müzik kullanmayıp adeta müziklere görsel yakıştırmışlar.

Started kind of weirdly okay, but the beginning of the second season was even better. But there was not as well written main character as in Bates Motel.

The acting by the two leads is fantastic. The plot is engaging enough, and I like the interaction & development between the leads, but sometimes the internal monologues were too contrived and cliche. Lines like, "When I was nine, he bought a deep-fat fryer...One day, I put my hand in it. I wanted to make myself feel something." Character introduction doesn't get any more lazy. This kind of writing breaks the "show, don't tell" rule really hard. It does get better though. [Seen through season 1.]

I feel like I might be being a little generous with my score after watching the first season. I don't really have any urge to continue watching into the second.

The two lead characters are awesome. The show had me hooked from the first opening moments. Its a great anti-coming of age story. they should be coming to childhood revelations but instead are thrust into the darkness of the world early on. Both are trying to escape their collective realities in their own ways. its really fun to watch this show develop. I hope there is a second season

Loved the character development in both characters and how you can see James slowly change his opinion on Alyssa. Didn't like the third season as much but still a great watch.

The show has an indie vibe, swinging from dark to introspective to impulsive to quirky. The dialogue is a bit patchy at times and the pace can occasionally feel a bit slow, but the show captures the spirit of those who feel different, bored and unable to fit in, cleverly contrasting it against teen angst. The characters are a bit irritating, but Barden and Lawther do a great job. Unsure it needs a 2nd season though. Admittedly S02 is better, but lingers on a little too long.

Short episodes with a great hook and cliffhanger to each one. The show breezes right by and doesn't take the easy choices. Great grasp over a wide range of tones. The humour always hits and the series only occasionally leans too heavily into the twee

Really weird, but overall a really good show. The acting is on point and the few times they try to crack a joke they succeed. James' arc is incredibly well done and just overall a good show. Also, it's really bingeable, I finished the whole show in a night (which for me is really fast).

A darkly funny tale of 2 kids who decide to go Bonnie & Clyde across the Home Counties of England, with situations as ridiculous as that premise suggests. Both the leads are superb and it captures the essence of just about every teenage angst you ever had. If I was 15 today I'd probably think this was the coolest thing ever, but even as a jaded old fart I still found this funny and touching.

A teeny version of "Badlands" that I'm sure I would've loved to have seen when I was younger. Could've easily worked as a full-length film. The sharp writing gets a little stale towards the middle, but the finale is brilliant.

An unexpected surprise. Great story. Great characters. Great themes. Great writing. Full of style. The type of show you can recommend without thinking about it. An incredible journey. A second season that matches, if not passes, the impressive quality of the first. Masterful shot composition and lighting. A must-watch. HIGH 7

This series features lovingly crafted and well-acted characters with so much heart-wrenching depth that watching their increasingly bad decisions becomes a compulsion. Unfortunately, about midway through S1, the show stumbles into Wes-Andersonish cliches culminating in a pointless emo-tragi-fantasy. Fortunately, S2 seems to rewrite the whole last bit of S1 and adopts a more mature approach, recapturing the barefaced authenticity that made these characters so weirdly relatable.

Season 1 was mad, but season 2 was trying to live off the ideas of season 1 so it wasn’t as good. Bonnies acting was sick but james and alyysa in season 2 sometimes felt forced in replies and not as natural as season 1

TEOTFW is a show with a distinct and original style.Everything in this show from a technical aspect is pretty much perfect(cinematography, directing, editing etc). The acting by our two main leads is also exceptional. They capture the struggles of being a teenager while also playing two very eccentric and unique characters.I cannot really formulate the negative thoughts i have without going into specific examples so i'm just going to say that the show's style can be distracting at times.

what more can you say about a tv show that never wanted to be longer than two seasons. in a world where tv shows go on for way to long, it's nice to find one that appreciates your time. this show is succinct, full of character, and wickedly creative.

S1 - 75, S2 - 80. Jessica Barden's character becomes oddly desirable as the episodes carry on. And I don't mind one bit the romance takes off in season 2. Maybe I just had too much fun re-watching this in one night during a lockdown.
