The Ghost in the Shell

This Major Kusanagi is so *sensual*! Not just sexy, but entwined with fleshy pleasures and the experience of being alive. It's not despite her cybernetic body - that body is what lets her experience it so thoroughly. This contrasts well with the ethereal cyber-world side of the story, and ends up as part of what makes the ending meaningful. There are flaws in this - the political parts that got so much attention fizzle out in the end - but it's worthy of standing alongside 1995's version!
