Rip Torn is the star of this, more so than Shandling: "I learned how to shake hands before I could wipe my own ass!" Please tell me there's a movie out there where he plays a general overthrowing the government or something. As much as Tambor turned out to be a psycho IRL, he's also amazing in this, his sex tape episode is maybe the funniest one of all. Best guest star: David Duchovny.

Everyone is awful. There's no ethics. It's just a reminder of how awful almost everyone in media and politics and corporate culture is. Why anyone who isn't in that would enjoy this is beyond me, except maybe they wish they were. This show is probably just enjoyed by those sorts of people or people who wish they were that materially successful, part of the "in" crowd in that respect.

very good series

Not great, but good. Shandling is barely likable (at best), and adding to this the heavy reliance on terrible faux-pas, this has a certain ahead-of-its-time, offbeat, dark comedic slant anticipating Curb Your Enthusiasm and Louis C.K's shows.

Shandling is a love or hate type comedian and this show hinges on that relationship with the audience. Highlight for me is the always creepy David Duchovny.

Unusual comedy show with good performances.
