The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

No other network late night talk show - or host - ever felt this honest, intelligent, and punk-rock. Craig's blatant disdain for the tropes of late-night TV made each show a unique and often surreal experience (often incorporating his robot skeleton sidekick Geoff and fake horse Secretariat). His interaction with guests (especially attractive women) was refreshingly unstructured and frequently hilarious. We'll never see another show like this.

Used to love watching this after work. It was simpler, quieter, and felt more spontaneous than other late-night shows, and Ferguson always seemed sincerer and smarter than other hosts, delighting in any opportunity to pull back the curtain on the genre: the backdrop is fake, the jokes are repetitious, and the guests aren't here out of the goodness of their hearts.

I am not a fan of the talk show, and I really wanted to like it since Ferguson is genuinely likable but it just didn't happen.

This man is adorable.
