Stripped of his satirical faux-conservative persona, Colbert is far less funny and just as insufferably preachy as all the other smarmy late night douchebags. Come back, Craig Ferguson.

Alright, I have to admit I was dead wrong about Stephen Colbert. I thought he was a great up-and-comer while with The Daily Show and his satirical takedown of Bush-era Fox News during The Colbert Report was utterly brilliant. However, since taking over The Late Show his real face has finally been revealed. He is nothing more than an opportunist who will bow to the wishes of whatever corporate or establishment master he happens to serve. It is sad because he is still very funny.

A depressing career advance from the Colbert Report, just extremely generic and forgettable. I've only seen a dozen episodes, one of which was Bill Burr and Colbert didn't know how to handle him which was bizarre.

Colbert still runs the best talk show in town, though his Late Show isn't quite as special as The Colbert Report was (where he played a parody of a conservative punit). I feel like the interviewees in this one are less interesting (because they're bigger celebrities) and the musical guests are way too bland for me. The little skits are hit-and-miss. but the monologues are still great.
