The Outer Limits

Like the Twilight Zone but way more disturbing & unsatisfying. Endings often felt Aesopian & needlessly sadistic. Twilight Zone took a more Vulcanesque, elevated, aloof approach rather than being didactic or wantonly grim. And I *do* enjoy Black Mirror, which may be likened to tOL but is just infinitely better acted, produced, and thought out, most of the time, without the cumbersome Boomer pedantry and Marquis de Sade subversion. If tTZ is David Bowie & BM is Radiohead, tOL is Marilyn Manson.

Seasons 1-3 are fantastic, S4 is a bit of a letdown, S5 is absolutely terrible and S6 and 7 are better than S5 but only have a few really good episodes. There are also a lot of recap episodes that rely on a usually extremely simple storyline just to cheaply string together clips from previous episodes. Which is a real shame, since it mostly affects the season finales and even the shows last 2 episodes, which weakens the overall impression. Still a good show but with some big flaws later on!

The true modern successor to the original twilight zone, but generally darker.

very nice series

Not bad, but nowhere near the levels of the great anthologies.

Couple of memorable ones in here.
