1st 3 eps. A virtual reality that's actually just reality, aloof elites with mysterious motives, & sassy protagonist who has to figure it all out. Some fun stuff, could be nifty feature film maybe even with a sequel. Instead it trudges for 3+ hours & counting as chars belabor the obvious about their predicament. A key scene involving bees uses no actual bees and even simple things like chars conversing on street corner or in yard contain obvious compositing. Some dreadful needle drops as well.

The 2032 stuff is mostly dumb but watchable, hard to take the brother too seriously. Especially dumb is having a new assassin or team of assassins every episode or two that the main characters deal with easily. Future stuff is ok, the slow reveal on what the stub is for is interesting. Invisible cars seem super dangerous for everyone, but I guess there isn't much traffic- maybe put down some of those tubes that detect the weight? I'll keep watching.

Is is good? No, it's not! Is it bad? No, it's not! It's just overhyped... and exhausting... because the episodes are 70+ minutes in length. Just like a movie!! This series has great visuals but a "garbage" plot based on some advance progress of the future tech, where the writers don't even try to justify them, by just having a character to say "It could be rather confusing. Even for us". They force the audience to swallow the plot "as is". So... if you like "unchewed" plot, then this is for you

I think it is a really cool idea, and overall a decent sci-fi show, but it doesn't quite live up to its potential. That being said, it is unfortunate that the second season got canceled due to the ongoing strikes, because now in addition to the issues it has, it's also incomplete.

Yes, the characters have ridiculous accents, yes, the sci-fi mechanics are lazily glossed-over, yes, everyone is far too beautiful to be living in that dead-end hick town. But it was still really enjoyable despite the flaws, isn't that enough?

The Peripheral is a painful exercise in stretching a plot out by filling it with unlikable characters who seem to talk in annoying accents, non-stop, swinging between exposition and nonsense. There are occasional action sequences that play out well, but they get lost and forgotten in the heap of repetitive tripe that this show is. Moretz gives a decent performance but her voice is unbearable. Billings seems ill-fitted in every scene she's in. Overall, too much redneck energy.

This is F'n great. Intense. Love the plot. Characters are very good. I'm already looking forward to a must have season 2. They better do a season 2.

Cool idea, nice visuals (too good looking for people in the suburbs) ans just fun and entertaining built for my taste. I liked it.
