The Spirit of Christmas

Well, I don't think this will enter my yearly Christmas film rotation.

The ghost and mystery serve merely as the gimmick to set things in motion. The ghosting is nonexistent, unless you like the opening and closing doors thing, and whispering. boo... The plot is cookie cutter, the mystery is obvious, the characters are bland but passable, and the ending is stupid but expected. Normally I like happy endings, but I think in this case bitter-sweet may have been the better option. That or have the guy not be a ghost, it just doesn't work as is.

Not a *bad* movie, with some really interesting ideas buried in it. There's a neat spin on the paranormal romance, where the supernatural man is as confused by his situation as the normals. The female lead is willing to reject dudes for not being up to her standards. There's other nice little tweaks. But everything that isn't a Good Bit is *so* very formula. If you enjoy this kind of romance, watch this and you'll have an unremarkable but enjoyable time. If the formula isn't your thing, skip it.

Wtf the ending? The internal mythology of how ghost world and the real world intersect and the rules of it all seems very inconsistent. Btw if they’d banged when he was a ghost could she have gotten pregnant from it? Would that ghost nut have seeded that womb
