With a shiny happy exterior and an off-beat, demented interior Tom Papas latest comedy release attacks our hilarious attempts at happiness as life piles up around us. In his second comedy album family is a recurring theme whether it is on a global scale as we connect through MyFace to his married life in a house full of girls to old men with muscles who look like chicken cutlets. This is a truly funny exploration of life from a comedian who is living it with his eyes wide open. (imdb)

Why the fuck did Rob Zombie direct this?

Directed by horror filmmaker and legendary musician Rob Zombie, this is quite an amusing special. I liked the black and white intro and especially the transition to colour. As far as the set itself goes, Tom Papa is a pleasant presence and has a lot of strong jokes despite most of them being about the same topic, i.e. marriage and kids. Weaker jokes are also present and overall this is not particularly challenging material, but watching "Live in New York City" is a breeze and a pretty good time.

A strong set from Papa, foreshadowing his polish in future specials.
