I didn't like the direction the story went, but this is still good, especially compared to the following TV series.

Not quite ruined by one of the lamest endings in the history of science fiction. Everything else, once you get past the sheer dorktasticity of this as sf, is very entertaining, just as it all was in the original miniseries
