Vikings

The first couple of seasons are great, then it drops in quality some but keeps the interest through to the end of season five after which it turns to unwatchable garbage. It's pretty obvious that the screenwriter had no idea what to do after the story effectively wrapped at the season five finale and decided to go GoT on the viewer i.e. throw logic, physics, and character development out the window.

The first two seasons are great, but the timeline becomes convoluted in some respects, and great license is taken historically. It does not paint an accurate picture of the Norse faith, but is good enough to lend it some mystery. The characters are very much believable, but caring about the plot becomes difficult as it takes a long time to unfold without enough hooks to truly immerse the viewer.

Used to really like this series, mostly season 1 and 2. From there quality declines, especially season 4. Too much of everything, loss of focus. Shame.

1x; Stopped after S1.

Absolute Masterpiece

Después de la muerte de Ragnar no tiene sentido verla.

A gritty, brutal, and fast-paced saga about the legendary Ragnar Lothbrok. It chronicles his rise from a simple farmer to a king who terrifies England and France. Travis Fimmel is mesmerizing as Ragnar he is crazy, charismatic, and incredibly smart. The battle scenes are raw and intense, but the political scheming is just as exciting. It mixes history with a bit of mysticism.

A mostly consistently good show for a long while, but sometimes succumbs to its own sleaziness.

Ranking this on the first two seasons, the only two I have seen. The just raw intensity of Travis Fimmel, you never know if he's about to laugh or punch you in the face. This guy scares the shit out of me, but I'll happily watch him viking the shit out of people.
