Nice cast. I really enjoyed Kelly Reilly as the hot mess shark. The story dishes out a few too many implausible plot points. The acting is often too serious and deliberate. Kevin Costner is a great actor but I kept waiting for his character to break out more. It highlights a way of life best set about 200 years ago. Kelsey Asbille was surprisingly terrific. It was also a great showcase for Luke Grimes. Some of the writing was not great, however, it was often entertaining and engaging.

Was surprised to stumble across this. I had never heard of it and saw it recommended on Amazon so gave it a try. It's a solid modern day western family drama. Costner is pretty good as the patriarch, showcasing his demented relationships with all his children. Throw in a slew of dependable and recognizable faces and some land conflict and politics and you are set. Not sure how long it will hold up , but enjoying it for now.
