The final part of the trilogy, hampered by the addition of toyetic Ewoks, but still quite good with an explosive finale and a sense of finality to it all.

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - Rated 10 Aug 2007

A superior sequel that puts character front and center amidst some great effects work. When I was a child, it was my least favorite because of it's darker nature. Ironic.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

The best of a bad lot with some good melodrama and some semblance of resolution to the story. Still bloated with unnecessary CGI, awkward acting and while the story holds together, it's definitely in shreds. R2D2 is the hardest droid ever though.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

Guilty of the same crimes as the first prequel, but exchange "juvenile humor" for "really bad romance scenes". The CGI work has improved, but it definitely didn't help the acting.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

It's possible this movie is a victim of high expectations and hype overload. But on the other hand, there were bad racial caricatures, overuse of CGI and fart jokes. Yep, just a bad movie.

Team America: World Police (2004) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

It's a kind-of-funny send up of action movies, American foreign policy and everything in between but it never reaches the satiric heights of South Park. Still, it's got an extremely catchy soundtrack. Extremely.

Ocean's Twelve (2004) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

A very disappointing sequel that meanders without a clear goal or the flash and buzz of Vegas in the background. I'm sure the cast and crew had some fun, but it hardly comes out in the movie at all.

Waterworld (1995) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

It's Mad Max with jetskis, except replace a young, raw Mel Gibson with an aging, boring Kevin Costner. Also, I miss the outrageous Aussie accents. It's not horrible, but it's remarkably meh.

From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

A strange, almost schizophrenic movie that starts off as a tense gangster/hostage drama and abruptly becomes a "kill 'em all!" vampire grindhouse flick. It's nuts but I can't stand Tarantino as an actor. Pulls me right out. Clooney can stay though, he's dreamy.

King Kong (2005) - Rated 09 Aug 2007

A bloated film that tried to add gravitas and meaning to a film about an really big ape. Jackson throws too much spectacle at the screen, such that we lose any sense of wonder and turns it into tedium.
