Aliens vs. Avatars

Wow what a shitsplatter. What happened to that Avatar-reverse-lady's voice? And like Barthalen said: It has a CGI campfire.. awww yeah

Aliens Vs Avatars is a schlocky 50s style monster movie (complete with moralising) and you absolutely cannot take it seriously.

You know exactly what you're getting into with a title like that. It's oh, OH so cheap. Shot entirely in some park, it features a CGI campfire, horrible cast, hilarious ripoffs of well-known sci-fi movies and a robot that's obviously nothing more than a crappy rubber suit. Painful.

Bad. I'm all for no-budget amateur movie making if said amateurs have some inkling of a good idea or original concept they want to share. This doesn't. This is one of those amateur productions where you and your pals could sit down and drum out a better story in a day.

I thought this was an Asylum film, and in not being an Asylum film this far exceeded my expectations. It is horrible, but taking it as it is it's pretty entertaining through its thankfully short running time - of course for all the wrong reasons. Terrible effects, but I weirdly liked the score, parts of which (along with other aspects of this film) made me sure there is some Thankskilling-inspiration at play here.
