I don't make it a habit to rip on young actors but Bella Thorne is just terrible. Kurtwood Smith looks like Salman Rushdie.

This was not terrible just bland and maybe even a little boring.

Considering talented cast its a dreadfull movie. Some moments but overally very boring and unoriginal. Safe to say that Khalfoun will never make something like small cult classic P2.

Amityville: The Awakening is a tragically underrated movie. The consistent low ratings from almost every website had me hesitant to even try watching it, but when I saw it was free from Google Play I decided to give it a watch. The story was impressive. It was meta without being obnoxious or constantly in your face about it. The use of a comatose body was creative and effective at being scary. This film had two things going for it - first, it is the only movie in the entire franchise to have actually took time to build a replica of the house seen in the original films. They didn't find a random house, place scary windows on it and call it a day. Secondly, it was meta, where the other movies are fictional, and they're in the real world, which was an original concept, but in the real world, the character never heard of the Amityville Horror? Really? Also the meta isn't fully developed.
