She has imaginary dreams of hosting her own television food show. Growing up she was infatuated with her neighbor Saffron (Carrie-Anne Moss), a former child star who is now a sad, tragic and lonely introvert.

I must say the soundtrack's clicks and clanks were nice, but the story did not awake anything special on me. The end was expected and not that shocking as it tried to be. A poor man's To Die For.

Someone had a fun idea, but the script needed a lot more work. This could have been a good film.

This movie had me hooked until it's very strangely done ending. I still have no clue what exactly happened and it just messed up everything for me. I will admit for an indie film this was filmed in just a very gorgeous way. It doesn't hurt that Heather Graham and Carrie-Anne Moss make the film pretty too. The food that was cooked intrigued me and it was so fancy and great. The parrot part also cracked me up in a sadistic way. I just wish I had an explanation of the end, I need facts!

Displacement seems more apt. It's fairly enjoyable but telegraphs too much and there's just 'something' missing, I guessed book to film but it's actually a fiddled-with remake -of a Korean film. Also, how not to do a sex scene, all panning and curtains.

'Weird and different' is not always good in a film, as Compulsion proves here. A clearly ultra-low budget piece, concentrated mainly in two apartment rooms, with presumably the bulk of the money thrown at various cleavage-squeezing dresses for Ms Graham. She's a wannabe TV chef who fantasises about hosting her own show, Moss an ageing actress with bulimia. There's something or other about their polarised lives, but don't ask me what: I was so bored I'd lost all concentration by the end.
