It's not all good man ;)

This is a sort of noire film, with dark humor and a light story, enjoyable but not memorable.

They tried something different and I can appreciate that. If you’re not into oddball indies, pass this hard. Odenkirk is charming as ever and I bought into his romantic endeavors and professional distresses even though it was a haaaard test of suspense of belief to buy into the greeting card mob plot.

This film starts off good but it eventually unravels with a very uneven script. The script definitely falters in the second half of the movie. Sometimes it seems like the film is trying to be to clever. Overall this film is disappointing.

I've always had a low opinion of screenwriters who were so lazy the only occupation they could think of for a lead was writer. (Same goes for filmmaker making films about filmmakers.) But even a broken clock has to be right twice a day! And this did get two things right: dark/witty lines & quirky characters. Unfortunately, the end was terribly stupid and formulaic. Actually twice! It hit one cliche, doubled back, and hit the other, as if two mutually exclusive cliches would be original.
