Rabid Grannies

Wait, rabid grannies? They were demonically possessed! Who did this diagnosis, a US healthcare professional? Haha, thank you, I'll be here all night, mainly because I locked myself out. Anyhoo, this badly dubbed cheesefest was worth a few chuckles and had some decent gore and make-up, but it's a shame the plot gets so repetitive that it becomes hard to overlook its limitations as time goes on.

You say rabies, I say demonic possession, but whatever, we still pretty much got what we all came for, and that was old ladies running around killing people. Dubious origin story of our murderous senior citizens aside, this cheese slog of terribly dubbed horror schlock is a boring but fun European "Spookies"(1986) of sorts. Unfortunately, while there might be a creepy moment or two, and some solid gore/fun kills, the script and ensemble of obnoxious characters sadly makes for a tiresome bore.

What the fuck is wrong with you people. Yeah this is not what Troma presents it as. It's so much better. Fantabulous weirdness.

A slow moving plot (which is terrible by the way), horrible acting and the dialog is simply cringe worthy. This is all par for the course for a Troma movie--and it does it completely and utterly shamelessly. The problem with this one is that the novelty Troma provides just isn't present so you have all the bad of a Troma outing, yet none of the good.

You ever walk down the street, see a puddle, and think to yourself "It's just a little water" while continuing to walk into it, only to realize it was a water filled hole the entire time? You stand there for a moment, with an "I just died inside" look on your face, muttering under your breath. That's what this movie is. It's fucking called Rabid Grannies for Christ's sake. It should have been glorious, but just like that puddle, ends up being a total shit show that ruins the rest of your day

The idea of the movie started funny (ironic titling, etc), but just got worse and worse until the end. The writing is probably the worst part of the film, both the core story and the dubbed dialogue. It's only barely a step up from any backyard horror film, and nowhere near as fun to watch. Also, the cover art is misleading and has nothing to do with the film: Troma repackaged it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You must absolutely positively have to watch this film. Words do not describe the level of how fantastically bad this movie is. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad, yet so good.

Rabid Grannies is another classic from the Troma Team. The title says enough and you get what you expect. There are some grannies. They become rabid. There is a gratuitous booby shot. You'll be lucky to make it through the whole thing awake.
