The Aftermath

I like the basic premise of the story and the setting of post-war Germany brings an interesting dynamic. Ultimately, the whole thing just goes nowhere and the conclusion misses the mark completely.

Very romance forward war drama that is as electrifying as it is melodramatic.

Filmin sanat yönetmenliğine bayıldım. Her ne kadar konu Aşk-ı Memnu gibi ilerlese de sonu sürpriz bitiyor. Aldatırım ama kocam bende.

Extra points for Keira Knightly. The setup for the affair though provocative and arresting was at times insufficiently constructed. Jason Clarke performed well. The magnetic Alexander Skarsgard was hobbled by his role. It barely scratched the surface of the possible emotional depths and failed to be entirely convincing at important junctures of the story. Some moments of uninspired writing and hurried directing. Although deficient at times, it was mostly intriguing to watch, so worthwhile.

Stale and lifeless. All three leads are struggling with badly written roles.
