The Escort

You know a film is dire when Bruce Campbell can't save it.

Treats its subject matter with a decent amount of respect, and it's moderately funny, but there's so little to it. The plot is cliche and the acting is hit-or-miss, but it's not a horrible watch.

Not "50 Shades of Grey" erotically by any means, but it's so much better than most of the love stories floating around out there, it is uplifting. And the punchline was worth the wait.

This is Hollywood seeming to think itself less puritanical, but really only moving the goalposts. Everybody in this romcom is still WASPy, handsome, rich, prim and proper with fake problems. It's unfunny, so you're left with something that's just blatantly manufactured. And if you've ever actually spoken with a sex worker (not as part of a transaction) or if you are one, The Escort will likely annoy you to no end with her bullshit lines. The guy's character is total nonsense as well.

Its not the best acting around. Its not the most unique subject. And definitely not one of the best cinematography. But it feel natural, there is nothing pushed or dragged too far. The Movie know its place. It aint pretend to be a great movie (like 50 Shades of Grey) ... Its decent and live its own decency. I kinda like it. A bit cheesy and superficial. But natural and good pacing.

Believe it or not, a sweet romance between a prostitute and a sex addict. And even though this movie is neutered and there is no sexual chemistry between them, this one was surprisingly pleasing. But don't go expecting anything life changing.
