White Fang

Haven’t read the book. But the film had. It condensed the plot into tearjerker checkboxes and little else.

You probably know the story, or maybe you don't. Know matter what, you have to watch this cartoon. Aside from having a really unique, yet beautiful style in animation, this is definitely the best adaptation of Jack London's novel out there. The journey of a half-dog half-wolf in human civiliazion still living on the frontiers of untamed wildrness. Recommended for everyone, but you'll enjoy it more if you want to get in touch with nature or with our peaceful, forgotten ways to live a life.

Like a children's/family movie, it has a simple, easily digestible story, introduced through beautiful (Beautiful!) animation. However, it has some prominent violent themes, like dog fighting and physical animal abuse, which would definitely make me think hard about sharing it with children. I fell in love with how much of the story was told through the dogs' natural body language, and then it was trashed when Weedon's wife politely asked White Fang not to kill chickens and he obeyed. *eye roll*

Did not read the book but this film worth watching. Emotional, beautiful, you get sad but happy in the same time.

An interesting animation film of a dogs life up-north. Does capture the right atmosphere is parts, but what holds it down is a rather thin and fragmented story.
